The thinking behind the work

AI for Australian Law Firms

Less file preparation. More time for judgement.

AI for Australian law firms: improve document preparation and team handovers with Paloren training and workflows, backed by professional review.

Get the whole picture

For partners, practice managers and operational leaders in law firms. Training for every firm size; implementation requires a viable scope and owner.

What changes for your business

Less file preparation. More time for judgement.

A matter summary can be compelling and still be wrong. Training develops a source-checking method for chronology, document preparation and internal briefs, while the lawyer remains responsible for the work.

Paloren can help at three levels: practical staff training, a clear operating policy or a connected workflow built around your approved systems. We begin with one job the team can describe and review. The objective is accepted work with less preparation, not more generated content for a partner to correct.

Build the matter view without losing the source.

A useful first workflow can assemble a chronology, organise document questions or prepare a source-linked internal matter brief. The task begins with approved material and ends with a lawyer checking the output. Conflicting dates, missing documents and unsupported assertions must remain visible.

A general assistant is not an authoritative legal research database. Even when a specialist tool supplies a citation, the responsible professional must verify the relevant source and its application. We do not position generated text as a substitute for legal judgement.

Choose the right intervention.

Training is appropriate when staff need a better method for an approved tool. Policy work is appropriate when the team lacks clear rules about information, review or new uses. Implementation is appropriate when useful work depends on connecting several systems or making a repeatable handover.

These scopes can support each other, but they should not be sold as interchangeable. A workshop does not deliver a maintained production integration. A connected system does not automatically teach people when to question its output. The proposal names the deliverables and the people who will own them.

Compare tool categories before choosing a brand.

Consider three different categories: general business assistants for approved drafting and synthesis; specialist legal platforms for relevant research or matter functions; and the features already present in your practice systems. Compare the actual task, source access, contract, permissions and review effort.

Do not choose solely on a demonstration of a plausible answer. Test a source that does not support the requested conclusion, a missing document and an instruction outside scope. Confirm that information can be removed, exported or restricted as required by your firm.

Next: Australian delivery and professional review.

Australian delivery and professional review.

For Australian firms, begin with your own professional, privacy, client and contractual requirements. The Supreme Court of NSW publishes guidance on generative AI. Court and state or territory requirements may differ, so your firm decides which current obligations apply to the work. We do not claim that a generic workshop satisfies those obligations.

The OAIC provides guidance on privacy and commercially available AI. Use that alongside advice about your actual circumstances, contracts and information. We agree Australian working-hour overlap, processing requirements and any onsite needs during scoping. Paloren does not imply an Australian office or Australian-only processing by default.

Next: Prove the first workflow before expanding it.

Prove the first workflow before expanding it.

The lawyer checks every material event and refuses to treat an unsupported assertion as a fact.

Use that principle in an agreed acceptance plan: what output is needed, what makes it wrong and who has authority to approve it. Measure preparation, checking and rework together. A faster initial draft can still be a worse overall process.

Implementation is scoped around the systems, permissions, task and operating owner. Paloren first projects typically range from USD 25k to 100k over 2 to 10 weeks; training and governance are separately scoped. Currency, taxes, licences and support are confirmed in the proposal. These are our ranges, not sector benchmarks or promised returns.

Before we talk

Good questions.
Clear answers.

Will AI replace lawyers?

This page does not predict employment outcomes. Our scope supports preparation and routine workflow around professional judgement. The responsible professional remains accountable for the work.

Can we put client documents into an AI tool?

Only after the relevant owners approve the information, account, processing and contractual arrangements. We can use fictional or sanitised material while those decisions are unresolved.

Do you provide professional or legal advice?

No professional compliance opinion is implied. Paloren provides training, workflow design and implementation; specialist advice and independent assurance remain separate.

Can we start with training?

Yes. Training is available to firms of every size and can stand alone. Integration or implementation is a separate decision with its own scope and budget.
