What changes for your business
A clear scope. A useful change.
Give your AI programme a clear owner. Paloren provides ongoing roadmap, vendor, governance and delivery oversight within an agreed advisory scope.
Fractional AI Leadership and Advisory
Keep the decisions connected.
A roadmap becomes less useful when every vendor conversation starts from scratch and nobody owns the trade-offs. A fractional AI leadership engagement creates an agreed role for keeping priorities, risks and delivery decisions connected.
This is an advisory and oversight service, not an automatic appointment as a statutory officer or replacement for your CIO. We define decision rights, access, time commitment and escalation in the engagement. Your leadership retains the authorities it has not explicitly delegated.
Next: Decide what the role is accountable for.Fractional AI Leadership and Advisory
Decide what the role is accountable for.
The scope can include maintaining the roadmap, reviewing proposals, preparing investment decisions, coordinating governance and monitoring agreed initiatives. Each responsibility needs an output and a review rhythm. “Be available for AI” is not an adequate statement of work.
For example, a monthly decision meeting can review the current priorities, evidence from ongoing work, decisions needed and risks without an owner. A vendor review should compare requirements, costs, access, handover and exit conditions rather than simply endorse a preferred tool.
Next: Make oversight distinct from selling the build.Fractional AI Leadership and Advisory
Make oversight distinct from selling the build.
Paloren also sells implementation and training. That creates a commercial interest that should be visible when we advise on suppliers. The engagement must distinguish advisory recommendations, procurement authority and any separately commissioned delivery work.
You can require competing proposals, independent assurance or approval from your existing technology leader. We should not mark our own implementation as independently assured. The goal is a decision your team can defend, with alternatives and assumptions documented.
Next: Start with a bounded operating plan.Fractional AI Leadership and Advisory
Start with a bounded operating plan.
The initial scope establishes the current initiatives, owners, commitments and information gaps. We agree what needs a decision first and what can wait. The operating plan sets deliverables, meeting cadence, response expectations and escalation routes.
There is no universal published retainer or assumed number of days on this page. Capacity, term, price and onsite requirements are agreed before work begins. A small team may need periodic decision support; an active multi-team rollout may need a more substantial programme role.
Next: Design the handover from the beginning.Fractional AI Leadership and Advisory
Design the handover from the beginning.
Keep the roadmap, decisions, risk records and vendor information in an agreed location your organisation can access. Define what happens when the engagement ends or a permanent leader joins. The next person should not have to reconstruct the programme from meeting memories.
Measure the engagement by the quality and timeliness of decisions, visible ownership and delivery evidence. Do not assume that oversight alone guarantees adoption, revenue or a successful build.

Before we talk
Good questions.
Clear answers.
Is this the same as executive coaching?
No. Coaching develops an individual leader. Fractional leadership takes on agreed ongoing advisory and programme responsibilities, with defined outputs and decision boundaries.
Do you replace our CIO?
Not by default. The role can work alongside a CIO, CTO or operational leader. Responsibilities and authorities are explicitly agreed.
What does it cost?
We quote after defining responsibility, time commitment, term and delivery requirements. No fixed retainer is implied by this page.
